Thirtysix of the potential members for the new Explorer Scouts had a district wide get together for the first time yesterday (15/1/02).  Information regarding the different types of Explorer Scouting was imparted.  Body Fitness was tested with a number of challenges that were admirably met, these included Indian Arm Wrestling, Legs Just Off Ground, Sort of Backwards Push of War, Straight Arm Chair Lift.  As individuals dropped from the leader boards for the different challenges they naturally fell into new and different groups thus causing new integrations. - Thanks or Blame to Ray for this one

After a few light refreshments (Thank you Chris) an opportunity for giving feedback  was given.  The evening finished with a giant game of twister.  The next district wide meeting is expected some time in May, by which time we should have another substantial wodge of information for you.

You were all amazing, thank you for supporting the evening.  By my reckoning there are  94 of you out there so far.  Help us to give you what you want with your feeback.  Keep us up to date with contact details, especially any email addresses because by this method we can update you directly so that you know what is going on.  I will be needing dates of birth to add to our growing database so emailed updates would be apreciated.  (peter@thorperoad.freeserve.co.uk)

A District Administrator for Explorers is at this moment having the necessary paperwork completed.  Once police checks and references have been taken up I will be able to pass on the relevant contact information.
